Solar eruption and “Black Swan” event photo overload: this is an encore layout collage of our earlier glitch variations (and original) giant sun prominent post on IG. This giant prominence erupted from the sun on Aug 31, 2012, sending a shockwave towards Earth that could have caused some very serious problems.
You can read more about the Sun in our earlier posts on theories of harnessing energy from the sun apply to civilizations (including human civilizations) as well as how giant solar shockwaves pose a threat to Earth (1859 Carrington event – Wikipedia). Our earlier blog post also talked about how the Chinese have nearly 3,000 years of recorded solar observations, which comes in handy.
