This time, our data-driven decisions have led us to glamour, our own clothing line, and this VR virtual fashion shoot. Who says big data analytics have to be boring?
First, some background on what got us here. Remember that, umm, ‘marketeer’ who suggested (in a comment on our IG feed) that we drop data science (one of the hottest fields at the moment) and instead sell his clothing? The comment was likely automated, but we had fun with it anyway. We told him we were too busy working on our perfume line. (“Data science: the new fragrance for men.”)
But then we realized — technology exists to turn our IG feed (and the photo posts on this blog) into a fashion collection. So we wanted to do a fashion shoot. But models can be hard to work with. (They got agents, and, uggg, what a hassle. We live in LA, so we know.)
(Usually, when we talk about models we mean mathematical models on this blog. But today we mean real models. Well, real virtual models doing real virtual fashion shoots, as we’ll see.) So we developed this amazing ‘new’ technology to do a virtual fashion shoot.
Right now all of our IG feed fashions (and virtual fashion shoots) are limited to women’s tanktops. (But if there is interest we could do dresses, men’s shirts, bikinis, etc.) The women’s tanktop pictured here in our virtual fashion shoot (based on our much liked IG historic map photo post from a while ago) is ready to shop!
It is machine-washable, made from a soft, light, stretchy material. (90% Polyester & 10% Spandex.) Available in all sizes from XS to 2XL (Of course, the problem with virtual models and virtual fashion shoots is that the real thing may slightly differ, since it being made-on-demand and doesn’t exist yet. The print will be based on our IG map photo, but might be slightly different than the virtual model here. And, although this is stretchy fabric, our virtual model is impossibly curvaceous; the real fit might be looser than depicted.)
If you’re interested in buying this tanktop (inspired by our IG feed) from our fashion partner, get in contact! (You can either email us, tweet at us, or you can register in one click via Facebook and leave a comment below.)
(For that matter, if you’re interested in turning your IG feed into a virtual fashion shoot or a real clothing line, you can contact us as well.) In the future, we’ll have a virtual fashion shoot of a virtual model wearing a photo of another model wearing a photo off our blog… Also we’re still working on that perfume.)
A version of this virtual fashion shoot originally appeared as a photo post on our Instagram feed.

This is amazing, really enjoyed this concept of using VR in this way. also really like the shot of standing in front of the simulated lake . this is easier to pull off in virtual reality than in reality of course!
